About Me!
Hi my name is Meagan White and I am so happy you are here! I am currently located in the Orlando, FL area, but have also lived in Alabama and Oklahoma! I am a Junior Dance Pedagogy major at Oklahoma City University working to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Dance Pedagogy and an Entertainment Business Certificate.
I have been dancing since I was 2 years-old meaning this will be 20th year dancing! Throughout my training I have done a multitude of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater and clogging.
Some of my favorite things outside of dancing are theme parks, reading and being with those I love! I grew up going to Disney World my whole life and have also been to other theme parks, I just love the immersive experience they provide! The same goes for reading, getting entranced in the world a book has to offer is one of my favorite feelings. My favorite genres are romance and fantasy! As I’m sure most do I love spending time with the people in my life, no matter the activity I just enjoy being the in the presence of the people who support and love me!
Star Dance Company
At the Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment we are given the opportunity to audition to be a part of the Star Dance Company every semester. I have been lucky enough to be on the company for the past 6 semesters! On this company I have learned how to pick-up choreography quickly, remember multiple pieces at once and swing different tracks. I have also been trusted by multiple choreographers to be their Line Captain meaning I help in whatever facet they need. I lead rehearsals when they are not present, clean their piece, answer questions from the cast and more! I am so grateful for these opportunities to get a little bit of insight as to what life will be like when I graduate and am working in the industry!
I am a member of the Gamma Tau chapter of Alpha Chi Omega here at OCU! We always say it’s not four years it’s for life because the bonds you create in that sorority house are ones that will last lifetimes. In the 2024-2025 school year I was the Vice President of Membership Programming meaning I was in charge of all the sisterhood events and homecoming. This was quite the challenge for me, but having a whole sibling-hood behind me that believed in me helped me rise to the challenge and lead our chapter through a successful homecoming. I truly don’t know who I would be without this chapter shaping me into the real strong women I am becoming today.

Student Choreography Show
One of my favorite shows we do at OCU is the Student Choreography show. This is where seniors get to produce their own show under the faculty guidance of Shadoe Brandt and Alana Martin. They do all of the choreography, marketing, auditioning, casting etc. and they get to collaborate with the lighting design majors to create the lighting for their pieces. This show is a great opportunity for under class-men to get to know upper class-men and just really bond the school as a whole. I have been fortunate to be selected as a student choreography for the 2026 Student Choreography show. We have already started drafting ideas for pieces, costuming, lighting, etc. and I can’t wait to see how the rest of this process plays out and everyones vision come to life on stage!
Spirit of Grace Liturgical Dancers
In my sophomore year at OCU I joined the Spirit of Grace Liturgical Dancers performance group at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. This group does work that is dedicated to uplifting our community through service and movement. I have now been a Student Director for this organization for the past 2 years with Emmy Greene under the faculty direction of Kelli Stevens. As Student Directors we do all of the choreography the group preforms, lead weekly rehearsals, take attendance, help coordinate performances, maintain membership morale and so much more! I am so thankful for this organization because it has helped me grow as a leader in a multitude of ways and I am excited to see how this continues to develop.
As a rising senior in high school I attended the OCU Summer Dance Intensive (what used to be known as Broadway Bound) and I absolutely fell in love with the school. I felt so at home there, the faculty were so kind and seemed to genuinely care for us and the Resident Assistants were exactly the type of people I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew from that week that I just had to go to school at OCU. Last summer I was lucky enough to be an RA for that same intensive and it was just as fun and rewarding on the other side. It was such a full circle moment getting to show the perspective students the same love that my RA’s showed me and what makes this school special. And I cannot wait to do it all again this summer for a new group of students!
